My name is Matt Bryant and I am a second semester graduate student in the Hospitality Industry Studies program at NYU’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management. As this semester’s Student Social Media Assistant, I wanted to interview our faculty and share their stories about their career, research, industry insight, and advice for students. This is our Faculty Spotlight Series.
For the first installation of the Tisch Center Faculty Spotlight Series, I sat down with Dr. Donna Quadri-Felitti, a Clinical Associate Professor in the hospitality program at the Tisch Center. Dr. Quadri teaches classes in marketing strategies and new media, and her research has focused on social media in hotels and rural winery development and tourism. She has written several articles for Hotel Interactive on topics such as the lessons from we can learn from Millenials and a new social media approach for hoteliers. She has a Bachelors in Social Studies Education from the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, a Masters in Hospitality Industry Studies from the NYU Tisch Center, and a Ph.D. in Hospitality Management from Iowa State University.
In Part One we discuss Professor Quadri’s passion for teaching, her advice for sales and marketing students, and her suggestions to deal with new challenges.
In Part Two of our interview, Professor Quadri discusses her history at the Tisch Center, current research and reaction to being honored by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
