Cuba Trip Update: Iberostar Varadero

DSC_0713The Iberostar Varadero was built in 2004, and is one of the premier all inclusive resorts in Varadero, earning both the TripAdvisor and Holiday Check award for 2013. The property has 386 rooms, inclusive of five different room types – double, family, junior suite, junior spa suite, and two presidential suites. With many options, the porperty is suitable for both families and couples looking to vacation in the area. There are multiple food and beverage options located on site, inclusive of bars, two buffet restaurants, and a la carte restaurants, showcasing international, Japanese, and Mediterranean cuisine. Te hotel has four pools throughout the property, a swim up pool bar,  and an entertainment facility, showing 14 different viewings, so, for example, a guest staying at the property for two weeks, would never see the same show more than once. For couples interested in getting married and spending their honeymoon in Varadero, the Iberostar conducts weddings at one of two gazebos, either on the beach or property courtyard. An additional ammenity offered to guest is wifi access in the lobby, suite styled rooms, and at the pools, for a cost of 5 CUCs per hour. The property houses various retail outlets and features a wide variety of programs including bicycle riding, dance lessons, and kayaking, to name a few. Though the hotel doesn’t have a golf course, they have partnered with Plaza American so guests can play golf at teir leisure. As an Iberostar premium gold category resort, kids, ages 4 to 12, get to enjoy the water playground and “Star Friends” kid’s club. With about 300 employees or so, guests staying at Iberostar Varadero are sure to be well taken cared of!
